The Inland
The inland is a succession of hills that lead up to the Apennines. The Marche boasts a rich natural heritage with two national parks (Sibillini and Gran Sasso) and 6 regional parks. 35 Kilometers away you can find the road that leads to Rome crossing the Natural Park of Gola della Rossa, rich of mountain villages, of nature trails and where you can visit all year round the beautiful Grotte di Frasassi, the most spectacular complex of Europe with immense rooms of stalactites and stalagmites. 40 Km away there is La Riserva del Monte San Vicino and of Canfaito that offers nature trails to explore on foot, horseback or mountain bike. A little further north there is La Gola del Furlo crossed by the Candigliano river that winds between the impressive rock walls of the Gola, where the suggestion of the landscape is combined with a prodigious natural wealth with unique flora and fauna. Villages and castles overlook the hills, cities rich of history and culture such as Macerata, Urbino, Tolentino, Camerino, Recanati, Fermo, Loreto and many others are all within an hour’s drive. Nearby the fortresses of Corinaldo, Ostra Vetere, Jesi and our Morro d’Alba, with its characteristic covered walkway called “La Scarpa”, stand out for their beauty. Each path in the hinterland has the charm of the discovery, in an environment still untouched by tourism, the country roads offer glimpses of the past, craft shops and restaurants with authentic flavors of the countryside tradition.
The Coast
Just 12 km away you can reach the coastal town of Senigallia. Ancient city founded in the fourth century B.C. by the Gauls, Senigallia has experienced a rich history because of its strategic location, with its traditional fair which takes place from the fourteenth century, the Rocca Roveresca of the fifteenth century and especially with its famous beach characterized by a fine sand which earned her the name “Spiaggia di velluto”. It is since 1997 that Senigallia is awarded with the Blue Flag, usually given to locations that guarantee the quality of bathing water, attention to environmental management, information given to users and safety services at the beach. It ‘a beach very suitable for families and children. Senigallia is also famous for its gastronomic offer, in the many restaurants on the beach you can taste the dishes of the tradition linked to the Adriatic Sea and you can make fantastic culinary experience in restaurants of high level, examples of Italian restaurant business. Only 45 minutes away , just south of Ancona, Mount Conero down to the sea with its rocky walls and the woods of the park in the Bay of Portonovo, the most picturesque part of the sea of the Adriatic. Here there are a series of small rocky beaches where you can swim in a clear water or eat nicely in one of the restaurants overlooking the sea.
